O final dos anos 90 é um período em que o Gênero Power Metal ganhou rápido desenvolvimento e vários tipos de híbridos começaram a aparecer, e um deles é o finlandês Nightwish, que em um tempo relativamente curto ganhou o status de estrela mundial. Na verdade, tudo começou em 1996 quando a banda foi formada e como foi importante lançar o álbum de estreia em 1997.
